“Shapes, Traits, and Emotional Overeating”

Understanding Your Emotional Overeating

In this 4-hour, fast-paced, friendly, comfortable, interactive and fun workshop, participants will learn:

  • Their preferred communication style
  • Typical behavioral traits of each communication style
  • How others typically view each style and how other’s views might impact getting one’s needs met
  • The typical stressors for each communication style and the possible effects of those stressors on overeating
  • The basic four feelings (FATS-Virtue-2002) that cause emotional overeating and the steps (FATS-Wilbert-2000) to work with those feelings
  • Most people with weight issues (are typically experts) know that exercise is important, that eating healthy is important, and even know which foods to minimize and maximize. The premise of this workshop is that emotional overeating is driven by emotions, stressors, frustrations, unmet needs, and unresolved personal concerns.
